The Fauteuil L.D takes its inspiration from an elegant oval bergère by Parisian master menuisier Louis Delanois (1731 - 1792). Made entirely by hand in Europe by a team of skilled artisans, the seat is upholstered in mohair, and rests on a set of four gauged bronze feet. The original medallion and arm bolsters found in classical Louis XVI furniture, have been simplified as part of the armchairs plush upholstery, thus becoming a sculptural contemporary echo of what over two centuries has come to define the iconic French style. In a similar vein, the accompanying pouf is derived from kidney shaped furniture, hence forming a Duchesse, typical of the period.
